Aloha ☀ I'm Mikhail. I help make digital products clear, user-friendly, and full of life. I work as a designer, analyst, sometimes a manager — and sometimes all at once.

What matters to me is that solutions *work*: simple for users, effective for the business, and realistically implementable for the team.

Words from people I’ve worked with

It’s a real pleasure to share my impressions of working with Mikhail Shkolnikov. For me and the entire team, he was not just a design lead, but the true center of the project.

What always amazed me about Misha is his seamless ability to switch between roles. As a design lead, he set a high bar for quality, had an exceptional sense for the client's vision, and consistently found elegant solutions to complex user scenarios. He listened to the team, and under his guidance, everyone felt their contribution was valued and had the space to grow.

But as soon as the project required structure, Misha would become a top-tier project manager. He brought clarity to chaos, formulated tasks clearly, established transparent communication, and made sure everything moved according to plan. Thanks to him, we always knew what, how, and when we were doing things. His “superpower” — being able to speak the language of designers, developers, and business alike — made the workflow smooth and effective for everyone involved.

I also want to highlight his personal qualities: positivity, willingness to help, and the ability to build an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect in the team. Working with Misha is remembered with warmth and gratitude — he’s the kind of person and professional you don’t easily forget.

Misha, I want to thank you — on my behalf and from the whole team — for your responsibility, dedication, optimism, sense of aesthetics, determination, and persistence. Working with you is a pleasure. You’re held in high regard by the team.

You often approach tasks from an unexpected angle, bring interesting ideas, know how to listen and hear, and explain things clearly. You’re focused on results and know how to unite a team to reach them. That helped us successfully complete projects, build communication, and improve processes more than once.

One of your strongest qualities is your ability to grow and master new areas — whether it’s project management, team leadership, process optimization, or business analysis. You see what matters, stay focused on what’s important, explain and prioritize clearly, and achieve results together with the team.

Thank you for your contribution to our shared work.

Working with Mikhail at ASAP Education, as part of our UI/UX design program, was one of the key factors in our students’ success. Mikhail proved to be a thoughtful, engaged, and truly committed mentor — someone who doesn’t just teach, but helps students grow professionally.

He gave a lot of attention to working with each student individually: helping them break down even the most complex topics, thoroughly reviewing assignments, providing detailed feedback on every mockup, asking guiding questions, and offering practical advice. His feedback was never superficial — it was deep and constructive, allowing students to grow from project to project.

What’s especially notable is that many of the students who went through Mikhail’s mentorship received high praise for their portfolios when applying for jobs. Employers consistently noted their mature design thinking, logic, and polished visuals. That’s not only a testament to their talent, but to Mikhail’s structured and expert guidance.

We’re grateful to Mikhail for his energy, kindness, and high level of responsibility. He’s the kind of mentor you’d want shaping the designers of the future.

When I first entered the world of design, Misha was the first one to lend me a hand. He’s the kind of designer who helped me realize that design isn’t magic — it’s a real, useful thing. He patiently showed me how lifeless grids turn into real interfaces and explained the 'why' behind each decision.

He showed me how Figma rectangles become actual products, shared tips and tricks, patiently answered my dumb questions, and always made time to help me through blocks.

Misha is a leader: he notices when the team’s in pain, untangles processes, and even brings in new ideas to experiment with. And the tech stuff? He’s so deep into it that it still blows my mind.

But the highlight of my resume? 'Fired personally by Misha!' — which I wear with pride. That must be the ultimate act of mentorly love: raise your student, and when they’re ready, push the red button. I guess he trained me well enough to fly.

And you know what? Even after letting me go, he still helps. So if you’re looking for a designer-encyclopedia with a human face — Misha’s your guy.

Misha and I have been working together for over five years. It all started with a project called French4Life. At the time, we had no idea what the school’s website would look like — no concept, no style, not even a logo. I’m so glad I met Misha during that period. His professionalism, creativity, and energy helped us build a huge project from scratch. Days and nights of work paid off — we were proud of the result, and clients gave great feedback.

Over the years, we launched more projects together — and working with him was always a pleasure. Misha was always in touch, open to questions, and ready to take on new challenges. He’s a true all-rounder: design, communication, data analysis, even sales — he does it all. Having someone that responsible and proactive on the team is a huge win.

Without a doubt, I can recommend Misha to anyone looking for a brilliant specialist. I’m sure we’ll create many more great things ahead!
